Craig Bunkley - General Manager
The Top of Waikiki is very fortunate that Craig comes to us with a lifetime of restaurant experience. His appreciation and love of food came as a child learning to cook his mother's special pan-fried chicken with gravy and his father's Kansas City style BBQ. The team at the Top of Waikiki are all looking forward to trying his secret recipes soon!
Craig has lived and worked in restaurants all over the United States including Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, New York and Seattle. Bristol Seafood Restaurant, Houlihan's and McCormick and Schmick's are some of the fine dining establishments he has managed during his career.
While opening up a restaurant in Seattle, he fell in love with Terry, got married and they have been together ever since. He and Terry would often dream about a life in the islands and in 2004 they got the opportunity of a lifetime! Craig was offered the job as General Manager of Kincaid's in Honolulu and their dream came true.
Terry currently works at the Parent Community Network Center in Kapolei, as a coordinator. His daughter, Jacqui is 19 and currently studying to become a teacher while working at Seagull School in Kapolei as a teacher's assistant. His son, Jon Taylor is 13, attends Kapolei Middle School and loves to skateboard whenever he has free time.
His take on the Top of Waikiki:
Craig is very thrilled to be working at a restaurant with such excellent cuisine and with Chef Sean Priester who has eclectic tastes and extremely high standards. He is excited to help with the rediscovery of the Top of Waikiki within the Honolulu community and especially enjoys interacting with people. He loves making both his guests and employees happy and appreciates that in the restaurant business, he gets to meet new people everyday.
The one person he would love to met:
Leonardo Da Vinci - "I would love to sit down to have a conversation with him to find out what really makes him tick."
